GOOOD Morning friends! We are back with another episode and more time to kiki and chat! This week K & J talked about World AIDS Day, discussing how far medicine and awareness have come. We are glad to see it becoming a national and global issue, we hope it goes beyond just one day of recognition. To the fighters who endured the hardship of the start of this epidemic and sought to bring awareness, we salute you. To the friends and family living with HIV taking medication, we celebrate you an your fight to live and love. From the American Revolution to the Olympics and still growing, LGBTQ people have contributed to the success of American Wars, Government politics (federal and state ), Civil Rights, and many more. From those who chose to live their lives out and proud to those who keep their identity to themselves. Their work and words are engraved in the History of our country. Unfortunately, they are often not spoken about, their names are discovered in books, social media platforms, and some not at all. What can we do to acknowledge heroes of all shapes, sizes, and colors without tucking them away because of who they loved or were born to be?  Joining the discussion -  Jessica Wall - is a Historian who has worked for the House of Representatives and Senate, helping to teach students of all ages and backgrounds, expanding their knowledge on how the federal government works and African- American history. She utilizes social media platforms to inform the public about unsung heroes who have contributed to the foundation of American life and democracy.  Jordan Costen the Executive Director of Safe Space NOVA an organization dedicated to providing a safe, accepting, and supportive environment to combat social stigmas, bullying, and other challenges faced by LGBTQ + Youth-  Jordan has worked with kids as a tutor at Maya Angelou Charter School, also Hortons Kid’s and served as a mentor for Space of His Own.  Reginald Benbow - is running for office for the Maryland State House as a delegate for Maryland District 43 ( Baltimore area) who before beginning his campaign for delegate was a consultant and teacher for students in under-resourced classrooms. With everything going on in the world, building a personal brand and wealth takes time and "hussle".  I know for me I don't have time to really get to know someone or if I do, I need them to understand that I work two jobs and volunteer on the side as well.
